Emanuel Kamber is a Professor of Physics at WMU. He received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of London, England in 1983. Kamber's research is in atomic and molecular physics - primarily focusing on fundamental atomic processes involving charge transfer and dissociation in collisions of multiply charged ions with molecular targets common in cometary and planetary atmospheres at low-energies typical of low-temperature astrophysical and laboratory plasmas. He has published over 70 widely referenced papers in scientific journals and has presented more than 90 papers at national and international conferences on atomic physics. He has been a research associate at the Royal Society Research Unit, University College of Swansea, U.K., and Kansas State University, and a Visiting Professor at Kansas State University. He has mentored 4 master theses and 2 Ph.D. dissertations.
